About Sylvacurl

Sylvacurl is the green packaging alternative.

Sylvacurl wood curls are manufactured in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Wood curls make an environmentally friendly and ecologically sound alternative to packaging peaunuts for shipping, plastic gift basket grass for presentations, they make a great potpourri base for showing off botanicals and holding scents, and can be used by florists and crafters in many ways.

Sylvacurl is a high performance, earth friendly packaging material that provides a safe, green shipping environment for your products. Interlocking curls cushion delicate items and prevent your products from shifting in transit. Sylvacurl natural packaging material offers a healthy and environmentally friendly alternative to many types of packing and shipping products including styrofoam peanuts, shredded and crumpled paper. Sylvacurl eco friendly wood curls are naturally static free, and completely biodegradable. Imagine, compostable packaging!

Sylvacurl is a beautiful and healthy alternative to basket grass and tissue papers. This is an all natural material made to enhance any product presentation from gift ware to cosmetics.

Sylvacurl wood curls make the perfect base material for potpourri. They hold their shape and keep botanicals suspended and they hold scents longer. They can also be colored to enhance your products or match a seasonal theme. When you use Sylvacurl environmentally friendly wood curls you are supporting sustainable forestry practices in northern Vermont, creating jobs, and helping to build local community economies by adding value to our natural resources.

Natural Product Lifecycle

Sylvacurl is made from Aspen trees, locally called "popple", which was used for tongue depressors and toothpics. Popple trees grow back from their roots when cut. They are fast growing with a short lifecycle of only twenty to forty years.

Once Sylvacurl has been used as a packaging material it can be reused and recycled in many ways: soft, absorbant animal bedding; attractive garden mulch; dry matter for the compost pile. The curls naturally decompose back into soil.

Our cows like it because it is soft, clean, and absorbant. We appreciate that it is easy to clean and goes right back to the soil.
